Animal Crossing: New Horizons has received regular updates for over a year, but recently the game hasn’t seen a new update for about 3 months. With the game being a no show at the popular game announcements show E3 2021 and not visible in the Nintendo Switch OLED trailer, could we expect to see updates come to an end soon? Fans certainly hope not, but eventually it does seem like the updates could come to an end entirely.
The last update left fans of the game with mixed feelings, as it did not add much in the way of some of the more exciting content additions that players have been eager to see. Characters like Brewster (who runs The Roost), Tortimer and Kapp’n (and their online Tortimer’s Island) are still missing from the game, leaving many fans disheartened with the current state of the game.
Other popular Nintendo titles which also received updates actively have since stopped getting updated, with Splatoon 3 as a prime example. After 2 years since launch, the game received a final update, something Animal Crossing fans could potentially see happen in March 2021, when New Horizons turns a year old.
But what do you think? Will regular updates for the game come to an end soon, or will the game still be updated for years to come? Right now, only Nintendo knows the true answer.
